It's that time of the year again! The holidays are here and everyone is scrambling to get their hands on Christmas presents. Crowded stores and long lines is so 2010. If you're looking to buy something for an airsoft player, look no further! Not sure what to get? No problem, we're here to help.
Before we start, let's establish a few baselines so we can narrow down the options to fit the needs of the recipient and get them the perfect airsoft gift they've wanted. First, how old is the recipient? If they're 18 and up, we're a go! If they're under 18, you may want to consult their parents or legal guardians first. Airsoft guns may seem like just toys, but they can be dangerous when used improperly, so be sure that parents and guardians are okay with it before making your purchases! Next, how much are you looking to spend on this gift? Luckily airsoft products range from the entry level guns of under $10 for a gun, up to the professional training level that average over $1000 per gun! If your recipient is just getting into airsoft, or has expressed interest in airsoft guns, the options are endless! We find that entry level players are usually between the ages of 10 and 13. However, we don't need to go off and spend $500 on a new gun to shoot around in the
 back yard. First time players often have a blast with spring powered pistols or rifles and shotguns as first time gifts. As always, be sure to include safety gear with your purchase for a first time player. Be prepared to spend around $20-$50 shopping around for this type of purchase. Keep in mind that these entry level guns and gear are not designed to be used for years and years, but they'll last  long enough to introduce the sport and get you hooked on it! It never hurts to buy something a little more expensive. The next step up are the entry level electric guns.

For their birthday or the holidays, get them something that they can use on an airsoft field without being outgunned. Mid-level electric guns are among the most popular airsoft guns out there today, so that would be a safe gift if you know you're shopping for an airsoft hobbyist. Some even have full metal construction to emulate the real thing. Prices range between $100-$200 on a regular basis for this category. As with any sport, you will have those who operate at a professional level. These are the players who go out every week and play airsoft. The age range for these players is quite expansive and can range between 13-18, but generally, these players are 18 and over. They might go into the backwoods on a private plot of land and play for hours on end. They might go to the local field or arena a few times a week. They're experienced, they know what they want, and for the most part, they already have what they need. These guys are the real deal. They work on their own guns and build custom guns.
 Don't worry, there are still plenty of gift options shopping for these types of airsoft players as well. The only issue now is price. Most high-end AEGs (airsoft electric guns) run $250 and up. While buying a brand new high-end electric gun would be a great present, there are tons ofaccessories and attachments that can be gifted to those who have high end guns already. Most high end guns come with accessory rails on the guns. They can be used to attach scopes, sights, grips, lasers, flashlights and much more. If you really want to wow them, try looking into internal upgrades. The top-tier player will know how to replace and upgrade internal parts on their AEG. Often times components wear down or break from normal use. Internals are changed or replaced on a semi-regular basis. As long as you get the right parts, you will definitely surprise them with the perfect airsoft gift.
For the airsofter who already has a complete set up, get them the one thing they can never have too much of: BBs. BBs are non-reusable and the gift that keep on giving round after round, shot after shot. Once they've been used once, they should  be discarded. A serious airsoft player can go through over 5000 rounds in a single event! Airsoft BBs are very inexpensive. For these middle level guns, we recommend .20g high precision BBs.
