The Classic Army M14 Match is a nice medium to long range rifle. A popular platform for sniper rifles, the M14 has a variety of after market scope mounts to attach premium optics. The high capacity magazine ensures that you'll never run dry when picking off your opponents at over 200 feet!
The airsoft market has seen a large number of releases of the M14 from various manufactures such as Tokyo Marui, G&G, and UTG because of its recent revival as a designated marksmen rifle for the U.S. military. Now the long anticipated CA M14 Match has arrived in the United States. CA is very confident that the new M14 will be a big hit in not just the exterior design but the complete system. The CA M14 features a newly designed gearbox that has many parts compatible with other Japanese AEG aftermarket parts. The semi/full auto fire settings and the large 470 round capacity magazine make it ideal as a suppot weapon or sniper rifle with its lengthy inner barrel. In addition the M14 Match replicates the functions of the M14 such as Moveable Cocking Lever, Bolt Cover, safety, and fire selector. All these features combined make the CA Full Metal M14 Match hard to beat.

Airsoft Classic Army M14 Match AEG Rifle
And finally, our last M14 to review:
Classic Army M14 Match . The
CA version is also the newest on the market as well. Released inearly-middle of 2007,
Classic Army’s version sure did have quite a lot of people excited because fans of their products know how well they make them. Also, I would like to thank a close friend of mine who allowed me to get a hands-on review/look/test of this AEG. With that said, I don’t think a lengthy introduction is needed so let’s start the review.
First Impression of Airsoft Classic Army M14 Match : At first sight,
Classic Army M14 Match is quite impressive. When you order it, you will receive the box, the gun, the manual, and a cleaning rod ll for around $250.00+/- USD.
Look of Airsoft Classic Army M14 Match :
Classic Army M14 Match really went all out on this AEG. Full ABS stock, metal parts, accurate in design, etc. Personally, this is probably one of the best paint jobs I’ve seen in a long time on a gun. The ABS stock’s coating and the flat black of the rest of the gun flows perfectly, for my taste. The trigger guard is a nice silver color as well. I have a neighbor of mine who owns a machine shop, and one particular part he makes is rail systems for the real M14s. He deals with civilian and military personnel who need custom rail systems for their M14s. The point behind all of this is that he came over to check out the
Classic Army M14 Match and was very impressed. Now my neighbor knows the M14 by heart. He was a competition shooter with it, has the actual blueprints for the M14, and he has done multiple custom builds of AR-15s and other real guns. So when an airsoft gun/product can impress someone like him, you know the design of the gun is accurate.
Classic Army M14 Match is known for their attention to detail, and they did not fail to do that on this AEG.
Feel of Airsoft Classic Army M14 Match : The weight of this AEG is great. It weighs around eight to nine pounds; also, it is balanced very nicely: not too front heavy and not too rear heavy. Beware though, if you are going to an all day event, I suggest getting a sling for it because after a few hours, it can get tiring. Again, when my neighbor held it, he was, yet again, impressed. He said that it was almost dead on to the real M14 which totals in at 9.1 lbs. I will say that for anyone that has a close-range area that you do airsoft in, any M14 will most likely be too long. That’s where I suggest getting the SOC 16/M14 Scout versions that are our there.
Performance of Airsoft Classic Army M14 Match :
Firing-wise, this is one of the most accurate AEGs I’ve ever had the chance to test out. It’s very accurate, with stock parts. The range for the Match on a human-sized target is as follows:
80 feet: dead on accurate.
120 feet: accurate within two feet of the target.
175 feet: accurate with three or so feet of the target.
200 feet (max range): accurate within ten+/- feet of the target
Now all of this depends on the temperature, wind speed, environment, etc so don’t be surprised if you come up with different numbers. It comes stock with a FPS of 320-325. Now there have been some challenges with the
Classic Army M14 Match I’ve tested out. These challenges could only be with this particular one, but I don’t know. The first challenge I do know is only because of the magazine that I tested it out on. As most of you know, the
CA M14 Match only comes with a high-cap magazine, and you also know that with all high-caps magazines, you have to wine-up the BBs to get them into the chamber. Well with the magazine that I had to test-fire the AEG with, the spring inside the magazine that help wines-up the BBs was defective. So every now and then, no BBs shot because the BBs weren’t getting up into the chamber. Solution: get a new magazine if it happens to you. If you’re a MILSIM fan like me, then you will probably agree that we all can’t wait until someone comes out with a low-cap magazine for the M14 Match (Hint, Hint
Classic Army …). Second and lastly, the battery can have a hard time fitting into the stock. “This is not to say the battery barely fits in the stock, but that the hole which the battery goes through in the back of the stock is too small, and with larger batteries the metal piece at the back may need to be removed. This takes about sixty seconds to do with a screwdriver” (Friend/owner of this particular
CA M14 Match).
Pros of Airsoft Classic Army M14 Match :
The following is what I liked about the
Classic Army M14 Match : the overall look and design, the weight distribution and balance, the performance
and how accurate the AEG is, the price, the range, the different options for stocks you can choose from, most of the parts being
metal, and the attention to detail by Classic Army when making this AEG.
Cons of Airsoft Classic Army M14 Match : The following is what I didn’t like about
Classic Army M14 Match : having no rail system and low-cap magazines out yet for it. Also, no other brands of M14 magazines fit it; and lastly, the challenge with the battery. Other than those, I don’t see anything wrong with the gun. Again,
Classic Army did a great job making it, and I’m sure others have more things they don’t like about the M14 Match, but honestly…to me, it’s a great AEG. I’ve been waiting and wondering when
Classic Army would put out a version or two of the M14 for the airsoft community.
Conclusion of Airsoft Classic Army M14 Match : At the end, this is just an extreme well designed and built M14 AEG. It ranks in my top five favorite airsoft guns. I don’t know what more to say other then the M14 is a classic weapon that still hasn’t died out since it begin its service in the 1959, and
Classic Army M14 Match is an example of how real and how accurate airsoft products can be made.
Various counterparts to this electric version include ones by UTG, Well, AGM, Tokyo Marui and more. Look over our website to see if the others are of interest as well!
