QuickWind High-Cap Magazine - Made by SlickAxe
In this review we will have a look at those new socalled QuickWind high capacity mags for Armalite series out there.
This can be a really nice innovative product and save us a lot of time and frustrations.
We all know to problem of winding up 10 mags before you can start at a skirm...
Here is a new design of the standard M-4/M-16 high capacity mags.
Airsoft Elite is introducing the QuickWind Hi-Cap Magazine for M4/M16 Armalite series.
They say it can save you 80% of the winding time for the magazine coil spring!
They come in a very need solid housing with standard grey, black, TAN or OD coloring.
The black magazine has some nice professional markings on it, like the real black mags.
They are also able to produce the magazine with special marking when you request(like a Team logo for example).
Read along to find out more about this new product, it might be very usefull for those who are using high capacity mags.
Usage is really easy. Just fill the magazine like a standard hi-cap map, wind about 6/7 rounds with the winding tool and you magazine says "click" "click" and it is done with-in seconds.
The winding tool is delivered seperate and fits in a nice small hole on the side of the mag. For extra winding during the games, there is always the standard wheel at the bottom for some small extra winding.
The people of Airsoft Elite claimed that the mag will save you about 80% of the winding time. Offcourse we had to test this.
The average time for winding a normal high-cap mag is around 2:30 min. The quickwind mag only took 18 seconds!
It is really obvious that the quickwind mags will save you guys a lot of time!
Primarily we have tested this mag on an CA M15A4 Rifle. We did not encounter any feeding problems sofar and the fit is good. Nice and tight.
One tip on using new mags, always spray some silicone oil in the mag to ensure smooth operating.
For in-field winding you just use the normal wheel at the bottum. The quickqind pin is really easy and fast! You know those annoying moments before you start the game and you are winding up all your mags which takes a lot of time?
Well that is history with this system. It is really convenient and fast, you only need to turn it 6-7 times and you magazine is ready to go.
I think this system is even more convenient than those auto winding tools. You don't need any batteries but you just need to be sure you give this winding pin a good place to save it.
Every mag comes with a winding tool, so you will have plenty of these tools. However be careful, you will loose it really easy.
These magazines are really good if you are looking for realism. Personally my favorite one is the black M4 mag.
The mags are also available in a grey, olive green and tan version! However only the mag includes some nice trademarks which look really cool.
Speaking about trademarks, it is even possible to laser your own team logo or something in the magazine!
The little hole for the winding pin is not a problem. It just needs to be there for the system to opperate good. The hole is really small and can hardly be noticed.
Personally i was very pleased with the externa realism of the mags. Compared to the SYSTEMA PTW M16 mags they are not as heavy but the looks are great.
For this test we have opened the TAN colored magazine. It was very interesting to look at the internals but not so much surprising.
The big question offcourse is on which AEG's does this magazine work. Well they are standard used on the VFC Hk 416 series.
Further we have tested these magazines in a Classic Army and a Tokyo Marui AEG from the armalite series.
We will add more brands when we have the oppurtunity to test this, but we are sure it is compatible with CA and TM.
We think, looking a the design, it is compatible with most general airsoft brands.
We will keep you updated on this section!
