King Arms M4A1 Airsoft AEG UCP & Desert Digital Rifle Review
In this review we will go over the King Arms M4A1 in ACU as well as the King Arms M4A1 in Desert Digital. As you can see from the pictures these guns have a great look in either color and, provide the perfect match to your desired load out. As with any M4, you need to make sure you are getting what you are paying for and if you are looking for that new “Water Transferred” look then this is exactly what you need.
The first thing you will notice as in most guns is the packaging and these guns are no different. They come in a red and black King Arms box, with labeling identifying the ACU or Desert Digital model. Upon opening the boxes we see that they both include full color manuals and foam padding to protect the gun during shipping. The finish on the guns it completely breathtaking the first time you see them, it is almost as if the guns are screaming pick me up and shoot me!
The guns include 2 highly detailed and full color manuals, thus making it more user friendly. Since the battery and charger are not included, the user has the option to buy a grade of accessories based on personal preference.

The gun is very well built and pleasing to the eye. Both guns feature beautiful water transfers of the majority of the guns. Thankfully there is some contrast with grays and blacks; otherwise it may have been just a bit too much. The water transfer is very well done for a full size rifle. There are very few flaws, but they are still flaws. Flaws are to be expected with water transfer, especially in the obvious places; such as the edges of each individual piece. However these flaws are not easily found unless you are specifically looking for them.
The guns feature full metal Upper and Lower receivers making the gun feel very good when you hold them. All the parts have very good fitment which has virtually eliminated creaks and rattles. There is one rattle that can be noticed and that is the LE Style stock which is pretty much standard across all airsoft LE Style stocks. The gun has all the features that you would come to expect with a M4A1 such as the front sight post, removable carry handle with rear iron sight, non functional forward assist button, six position LE Stock, functional charging handle, Dust cover, and bolt release.
The guns will come with a 300 round high capacity magazine that is TM compatible. It also boasts a spacious front hand guard that will allow for a plethora of battery options. One other wonderful thing about the trades are the laser engraved “COLT Government” Trades which makes the appearance very pleasing to the eye.
As these guns are standard M4A1 the battery placement is standard and will go in the front hand guards. The nice thing is that the hand guard is larger than most M4 hand guard which can accommodate different sized batteries. You will be able to fit anything from a small 8.4 or 9.6 volt brick or nun-chuck style small type battery to a 7.4 LiPo battery. If you are looking to fit a larger battery, you will need to upgrade your gun for that to work. The gun has a small type tamiya connector making it rather easy to find battery options.
*All testing on these guns were performed with a 7.4 LiPo battery pack.
Upon further testing we discovered that the gun has no fuse. For those that are familiar with upgrades you may want to install a mosfet. The gun will fire in full or semi auto firing modes and it also has a functioning mechanical safety. When we tested the gun with .20g BB’s from AirSplat we received a FPS on an average of 404 after 10 shots, and the ROF was 12.5 rps
I have to say after seeing my share of packaging nightmares; this was a very pleasing experience. The box was double walled and had a modular foam system that holds the gun in place. With the insert being modular it leaves you with the opportunity to reuse the foam and transfer it to a real gun case or just keep it in the box in order to store it along with other accessories. The gun actually comes with 2 sets of instructions; one set from King Arms and another from Cyber gun. The King Arms manual is in all English, and the Cyber Gun version is provided in multiple languages. This will ensure that no matter who buys they gun, there is a good chance the manuals will serve them well.
The internals on this gun are great quality! The gun features a full metal gear box, full metal hop up assembly, and a functional bolt release. The motor is a basic blank motor, and the gears are full metal as you would expect with a quality gun of this nature. It also has a 363 inner barrel, which makes the gun very accurate.
The performance of these guns will satisfy even the most discerning of airsoft enthusiasts. The Accuracy is just amazing. While testing we were able to keep and extremely tight grouping at 65 feet. This has a lot to do with the quality or the build and the internals, the inner barrel going almost all the way to the end of the flash hider. Another key part of the performance is how well the guns are able to feed BB’s from different magazines. We tested the guns with multiple magazines aside from the original high-cap magazines that are included with the guns, including the Magpul 80 PMAG, the standard 300 round high capacity magazine, SRC 140 round mid capacity magazines, as well as a A&K high capacity magazine from the Masada ACR. No matter what this gun continues to perform, it is a through and through performer.
These guns are have a very solid build and are high performance machines; they boast an incredible FPS and a decent rate of fire (ROF) The have an incredible finish that gives you a great addition to your load out with the ability to match the camo pattern from your gear into your gun. The gun is TM compatible making it highly upgradable and repairable if it runs into an issue.
As these guns are beautiful, you definitely need to be in love with the pattern of the camo when you buy them. As the guns really will not be able to accept aftermarket furniture and have them look the way you would hope they would. Another problem would be the fact that the guns do not come with battery or charger.
The gun is very solidly built, with a beautiful finish. The gun is TM compatible and will accept most TM based high cap and mid cap magazines. The gun is easily upgradable, as it has a version 2 Gearbox that accepts most upgrades. The quality of the fit and finish is impeccable. The gun does not come with battery, charger, sample BB’s, or a de jamming rod. However it does include a highly detailed instruction manual, in multiple languages. These guns will require small type 8.4 or 9.6 small type batteries with small tamiya connectors. These guns will be a welcome addition to any player or collectors arsenal.
